Desire for Transformation – Mars sextile Pluto August 15, 2014 Astrology

marsMARS IS SEXTILE PLUTO….feels a little bit like the universe (in my version anyway) is holding it’s breath … like a long pause or something… so i turn to astrology to see what’s up and Mars is making a sextile to Pluto.

Keywords:  Mar/action  Pluto/transformation

But keywords never tell the whole story.  Mars represents the ‘conscious’ desires of the Soul... what we’re aware that we desire.

And Pluto?  Well, it’s retrograde.  That can relate to a very narrow focus in the soul.  We can see how our conscious desires easily (sextile) stimulate our soul in some way.  Can be confusing if you don’t know what you want–and around that desire, Pluto demands sacrifice.

What are you willing to sacrifice to fulfill the conscious desires?

This interpretation works for my own life right now.  Maybe the feeling of the long pause, holding of the breath, is because many other souls are also trying to work this out–the desire, the sacrifice that is demanded to fulfill it.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY we have the very practical and conservative CAPRICORN where Pluto is currently living and very emotional MARS… fire planet in a water sign, Scorpio.

Emotional intense and impulsive Mars in Scorpio has a desire and its pretty easy to see the possibility of how Pluto is pointing out the realities of that desire; possibly saying GET REAL MARS… your desire is not practical.  Yes, transformation is in order, but be realistic.

This aspect is asking us to be clear about our objectives.  Any action taken now could result in permanent and far reaching change.  Therefore, Intense emotion must be balanced with practicality at least for now.

Both mars and Pluto are making an exact sextile today at 11° and the energy will be within the orb of intensity for the next 3 days or so…. now through the weekend this energy may be quite prominent in the psyche’.

ADDENDUM:  a further look at my transit chart shows the current Sun right on/crossing over  my Ascendant and with Sun ruling my chart (27° Leo rising), maybe that’s the feeling of the universe holding it’s breath… and now i go to celebrate a happy un-birthday today!

PS– if you have any insight about how you personally experienced a Sun over your Ascendant (happens once a year!) that you’d like to share, please email me:  joystar777@gmail.com.

Here’s a little interesting article on the Sun transits to AC, IC, DC and MC points that I just came across in the Mountain Astrologer:

On Karma and Intuition — The Moon Card in Tarot

18_The_MoonKarma!  Sometimes instantaneous, we are able to relate it to a very recent event; and other times appears suddenly out of the blue without any seeming association or link to the current life!  I’ve heard it told by the Eastern teachers how Karma manifest when the conditions are ripe for it, even if it comes from a prior life action–cause and effect.  That explains how people who seem to get away with all type of negative actions don’t seem to suffer the consequences when they should according to human timing but perhaps will later in the current life or subsequent lifetimes.  It also explains how people who seem to do no harm suffer terrible misfortune for no apparent reason.  Karma catches up when the timing is right.

Just because a person breaks a law or commits a crime or lies-through-their-teeth and gets away with it temporarily doesn’t mean the universe supports it–the karmic consequence will come to fruition during the right conditions (Divine Timing).  Astrologically, we often see this with aspects to the Moon’s Nodes.

How about people interfering with other people’s karma?  Do they create their own karma because they don’t (or do) interfere in other people’s lives?  When is it okay to do so and when is it not?  The teachers tell us that it depends upon our motivation.  I think intuition comes in handy in those cases of not knowing if one should interfere.

In the Catholic tradition they have the saying, “examine your conscience” in other words, check your motivation–is it pure or kind-heart-ed or not?  What do you hope to achieve and will the benefits outweigh any negative consequences?

I remember once hearing that to judge another person is to take on their karma.  I think I get where this comes from now after additional study study of Buddhism.

As Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet,

To be, or not to be- that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them.

Intuition helps in certain decisions … to ask a question to help one examine the motivations if one interferes with the life of another.  (I’m a psychic after all, so have to use intuition!)    There’s the Tarot divination system to help guide and of course, more directly, one’s own intuition.  To ask for guidance and then to wait until one is shown or given a clue in some way.   Tarot can be pretty direct when asking a yes/no question using specific spreads.

Get your nose out of my karma! LOL

But let me pull a card, just generally, and ask not for the answer to one specific situation but rather generally for the benefit of any reader who happens upon this post, asking, “What should be considered if one is uncertain about a situation that could lead to further karma or karmic interference?”

Well, here’s a can of worms for ya’—the card I drew is THE MOON.  Immediately, the word “feeling” comes to mind and that the intuition speaks to us through feelings and to trust your feelings about any situation regarding karma (creating or interfering with another’s karma).  Trust the feelings in the stomach and you will know what to do.

A teacher told me long ago that when trying to make a decision that if you think about doing the action and a feeling of peace comes over you, then this is the answer rather than if you feel un-easy, meaning not to take the action.  Feelings of foreboding or dread should clearly indicate a “no” to the question.

The message of THE MOON card is that there is a Law of Balance operating in the Universe.  For every win, there’s a loss.  For every happiness, there’s a sadness.  For every positive, there’s a negative.  The best course of action when the Moon card comes up is…

BE NEUTRAL and FOLLOW YOUR OWN INNER LIGHT ;  shadow worlds can be very confusing

(…besides, unless it’s a matter of immediate life or death, let the Angels and the energy of the Universe handle karma)

PS- just as an aside for today, July 12, 2014:  the Moon is Full today in the sign of Capricorn.

The Grand Cross April 2014 It’s a Season of Astrological Weather and Everyone’s Affected

astrological weatherPeople with natal (birth) planets in CARDINAL SIGNS (Aries/Libra, Cancer/Cap) that are close to 15° in their birth chart are going to be most affected personally by this months intensification of the Cardinal Cross.

I’m one of those lucky folks (rocking my 2nd house); it is the same with my oldest daughter.  In another daughter’s chart, it’s hitting her natal Pluto and NN combo and yet another daughter has the grand cross really affecting the area of her Ascendant; so all of  my daughters are being affected by this grand cross because their natal houses have planets in those signs at those approximate degrees, just like mine.

I have to cringe a bit when other people shrug, smile and say something like, “I don’t think astrology works for me–because in my life things are rolling along just fine and actually better than ever, thank you”.    They probably don’t have natal planets in in those degrees in those signs, but everyone is going to be affected in some way, if not so personally, on a community, city, state, national or global level.

And if your personal life is not deeply affected, it may be affected by someone else’s life who “is” deeply affected personally by this grand cross energy–in which case, you are still impacted in some way. I’ve always admired the way astrologer Steve Forest drives the point home with words.  In his recent newsletter, he wrote:  “Push comes to shove. Breaking points are reached. Crisis reigns. Squares and oppositions are exactly like the sound your engine eventually makes when you’ve decided to ignore the little red oil light on your dashboard. And the reasons are exactly the same: at squares and oppositions, bad behavior catches up with us. The law of consequences reigns.”

I’m not sure its all ‘bad behavior’ like Steven says; but then, he’s more of a master of astrology and myself the apprentice.  I think karmic situations are triggered–certainly and cause us to “work on our stuff” because that crisis energy helps us to see ourselves more clearly.  The cardinal energy is pretty stubborn stuff in our psyches’ and sometimes a bit of a crisis helps to move things along where we may have held on or been resistant.  It can move things along in a very positive way.

Maybe it’s the optimist in me but I can see that’s exactly what is happening in my life–moving things along in a direction that I’d not have (without that crisis push) taken.  But the direction is positive–or that’s how it looks from this point in time anyway.

DESCRIBING THE FEEL OF THE ENERGY:  Cardinal energy goes outward and then withdraws taking two steps forward and one step back and I must say that’s how a lot of energy in my own life has felt–very cardinal!   The energy sort of reaches out for freedom and then steps back for security and containment. AND with cardinal energy there can be a lot of projecting onto others instead of being responsible for one’s own emotions.  Holding other people responsible for one’s own happiness is an example of projection.

Using Steven Forests’ example of the red oil light on the dashboard you ignore right before you “blow a rod” and destroy your engine…. let’s say that if you’re in bumper-to-bumper traffic and somebody else’s light comes on in their dashboard, their engine cuts out and doesn’t restart, you’re going to be affected anyway–maybe not directly, but indirectly.  AND, I might add, in a way that’s in divine order for you too!   The universe is magical that way–everybody gets what they need to evolve in one way or another.

Astrology can be vastly complicated or quite literal and simple.  There’s so much to be said about the dynamics of the Grand Cross and it has been — just Google the term.

I like the way Steve Forest puts it all.  Why re-invent the wheel (especially when I’m supposed to be packing right now–best get at it, chop! chop!)

Therefore, I refer you to Steve’s newsletter for more.
